Kathy Mock
President

Kathy Mock has been a professional in the insurance industry for more than 30 years.
During that period she has worked in many areas– including Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, Marketing and Sales.
In 1986, Kathy began specializing in insurance for the Health Care Industry which remains her focus today.
Kathy represents specialized carriers who can provide the products and services best suited for the unique needs of the Health Care Industry.
Kathy has earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and the Accredited Advisor In Insurance (AAI) designations from the industry.
Brian Kanter
Vice President / Producer
Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS)
Brian is licensed in Property & Casualty Insurance as well as Life, Health & Annuities. His focus is on Property & Casualty Commercial Insurance in the Long Term Care industry and specifically Assisted Living, Home Health Care, and Independent Living facilities.
Brian has extensive experience working in business management and development. His diverse experience has positioned him to fully understand risk management and the challenges that business leaders and owners face in a world of litigation and risk. As a business owner he understands the importance of having a knowledgeable Insurance Agent to protect business and personal interests. His firsthand knowledge of the management and operational challenges of running care facilities positions him ideally to provide excellent service and coverage to QFI’s clientele.
Brian has earned the Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist designation from the insurance industry.
Dorene Spies
Director of Risk Management
Dorene’s career began in 1981 as a Nursing Assistant. In 1994 she became a Nursing Home Administrator and continued in that role until accepting the position as Risk Manager for Quality First Insurance.
Dorene understands that Long term care facilities provide a variety of services to residents, and the potential for injury is significant in the frail, elderly population that we serve. She knows that when employees are able to understand the importance of performing at the safest level possible they protect not only themselves, but also the people they have been called to serve.
Dorene also serves as an Eden Alternative™ Educator and Mentor. She believes that Culture Change in long term care allows us to better create an environment where we can all work towards responsible goals for our Facilities. Dorene has experienced first hand the changes among staff when empowered with knowledge to help them improve their work habits.
Dorene began working with elders in high school, but through out her career she has been able to reach out beyond the walls of her facility. Immediately after Hurricane Katrina she assembled a bus load of volunteers and headed to Louisiana to work in three homes that had been the recipients of displaced elders. Since that experience she has organized four successful Mission trips to serve the poor elderly in the West Indies. She believes these experiences ensure that she stays dedicated to protecting the Elders and the people that serve them.
Carrie Young
Customer Service Representative
Carrie is responsible for servicing all the policies we write for our clients. She provides customer service to all clients, assisting with everything from new ID cards to reporting accidents. Carrie makes sure QFI customers have answers to any questions dealing with policies or billing. She is also responsible for maintaining all the operational supplies for QFI’s office.
Carrie is a tremendous resource for QFI customers. She has worked as a customer service professional for more than 5 years. Carrie’s organizational talents and people skills make her a great asset to both QFI and our clients. Carrie is currently licensed in Property and Casualty, and Life and Health Insurance.
